Ode to the Sun

Oh, the sun…
In its glory

Who casts his beams,
And cares not where.
Whether to the depths of space.
Or on some eternal errand…
To slowly fade in some forgotten epic plane.

Or what feeble rays fall upon this lonely planet
amidst the vast expance.
To wind their way to the very core of us all.
To give what life they may,
And to warm and nourish our very hearts and souls.
