How I loathe this wilderness,
Of loneliness and soul unrest,
Where my heart grasps to be blessed
(I founder)
By memory of your caress
-
And I hurt I must confess.
So when distress, and demons test
My heart. I am hard pressed.
(I wonder)
Does God love me any less?
Of loneliness and soul unrest,
Where my heart grasps to be blessed
(I founder)
By memory of your caress
-
And I hurt I must confess.
So when distress, and demons test
My heart. I am hard pressed.
(I wonder)
Does God love me any less?
the answer is no, of course.

Short but sweet. Wonderful message. I might have got the wrong idea, however, this reminded me of course of Israel and the wilderness in the OT...but also my own life. My analogy that I use sometimes in regards to my faith is walking with Christ through a forest along a path that leads to my destiny if I follow him. In this forest there are many paths to take, and sometimes I go off on ones that look 'pleasant to the eye' and not scary and then it turns out to be horrible and I get lost-until I call for my Lord who comes and leads me out. This poem just reminded me of that. Nicely written. But I think God's love and He himself is able to look past our shortcomings, otherwise how can forgiveness be achieved? And it takes more love to look past shortcomings I think
